Haitian comedian Alcibiade has died.

Haitian comedian Alcibiade, a renowned personality in Haiti, has died. Nicolas Pierre Rolin passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the age of 83, according to his family. With his troupe, he entertained for more than 25 years on RTVC every Sunday, making him the oldest active Haitian comedian until his death.

A native of the Town of Gonaives, Alcibiade began his career in radio. He then ventured into the arts and the world of Haitian comedy by devoting himself to acting in plays that would bring laughter to thousands of Haitians from early days until today.

His family confirmed he passed away surrounded by loved ones at his home. A sad day for Haiti and his family.

The death of Alcibiade, who was a real antidote to stress on the radio airwaves of Radio Caraïbes every Sunday at noon, shocked the nation this Sunday morning.
